Welcome to the website of the
Interactive Skill Games Association
(“ISGA”), the trade association of
the North American Interactive
Skill Games sector.
ISGA was founded in August 2007 with the objectives of helping to shape the growth of the North American Interactive Skill Games sector in compliance with US law, and to promote public understanding of the sector. The founding members of the Association, FUN Technologies Inc. and King.com asked me to join as President, and to bring the benefit of my experience as an attorney and former Director of the Department of Gaming Control for the State of California to this fast-growing sector of the economy. I accepted and look forward to contributing to the ongoing maturation of the industry.
We believe that the growth of the skill games sector will continue to accelerate over time, as providers continue to develop new and appealing games, and customers come to enjoy the thrill of competition in legitimate contests. Already, millions of North Americans enjoy the fun of games of skill every month and mainstream entertainment brands are increasingly offering prime-time TV shows and game properties in a skill games format.
The Association is here to represent services offering true ‘level-playing-field’ skill games passing the predominance test such as solitaire, chess, and trivia quizzes, and are only offered in permitted states. Unfortunately, ISGA cannot offer membership to companies offering mixed skill and chance games such as poker for money.
I look forward to hearing from you about how we can work together,
Yours faithfully,
Harlan Goodson
President of the ISGA
